Agents in Various Domains CV
Staffing Agencies
To work in some companies, and even in some industries, going through an agency is the only option. Agencies and agents connect people, and their success is based on the importance of contacts and networking in the job market. Most agencies get paid by the client, or the organization wiling to hire, or simply take a percentage off the earnings of an employee or candidate. Talent, modeling and service providers are often grouped, an ergonomic way to coordinate potential employers and workers.
Administrative and office positions are primarily offered through such arrangements. Employment agencies vary in their specializations. For example, some specialize in junior or senior finance professionals, other in legal assistants and paralegals, while other agencies are general and other just seem to cover the banking industry in its entirety, from desk tellers, customer service and call centers, to top management, certified financial analysts and licensed traders (professionals).
Similarly, even for CFOs or Chief Financial Officers some boards, newspaper sections or other information sources concentrate on topics.
Websites and other online job boards are one alternative when looking for a job. Finding employment is rendered higher by recessions, or economic downturns. Also, manufacturing industries witness lay offs. The service industry seems less affected, but jobs are still harder to come by when firms are recording less profits or posting losses. Staffing Agencies in Quebec
Perhaps the best known staffing agency in Montreal, the largest city in the province of Quebec, is Quantum. Quantum is a very large recruiting agency with international presence.
In Quebec, many administrative, office, health (nursing) and customer service jobs are offered expressly through the organization. Interestingly, certain companies hire employees only through agencies. For example, Xerox is rumored to adhere to that practice.
Staffing agencies also specialize in areas. For example, Montpetit Group offers mostly legal assistant, paralegal and similar employment opportunities. Usually, the services are free to the candidates, but the employer either pays a set fee to the firm, or a per hour fee in addition to the hourly wage promised to the employee.
