The specialist in fitness delivers a high quality fitness experience to all clients.
The specialist is responsible for communicating and upholding company standards and leading by example for delivering the Fitness Experience Service Promise.

He or she serves as a resource for members regarding exercise prescription.
Conducts member fitness assessments including aerobic capacity tests, body composition, circumference measurements, blood pressure, strength, endurance and flexibility testing.
Assures general fitness floor supervision.
Handles daily operations including opening and closing the center as required, laundry, answering phones, cleaning equipment, and other tasks as assigned.
As Group Exercise Instruction he or she plans and teaches daily group exercise classes paying attention to current trends to meet members’ needs.
Collaborates with Wellness team to design, implement and evaluate wellness/fitness related programs.
Provides monthly bulletin board and educational handouts on various health and wellness topics.

Instruct a follow-up education class, Whittle Your Weight, for clients to attend monthly to help track progress, motivate towards health goals and educate on how lifestyle changes can affect health status. Discussions during classes included how to get more physical activity, what a healthy diet looks like, improving cholesterol, facts on blood pressure and how to manage it and the dangers of gaining weight. Fitness evaluations were completed by having the client perform endurance, flexibility, and strength test (push-ups, curl-ups, sit-n-reach, 2 min step test, bench press). In addition, resting heart rate and body fat percentage were calculated. Once completed, results were entered into the system, and the client's details were based on a percentile ranking with the general population for the client's age and sex.
Fitness evaluations were used to help create exercise prescriptions of workouts directly, modified as needed for each individual client, or used as a reference to suggest exercises to the client.
