Job Description: Psychologist
Facilities for the general public and for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) program provider communities, advocacy groups, stakeholders, government agencies, community organizations, the general public, and individuals receiving program services and their families.
Work involves planning, developing, and implementing policy and procedures related to activities and Inventory for Client and Agency Planning (ICAP) and Level of Need (LON) initiatives.
Routinely reviews and analyzes Intellectual Disability/Related Condition (IDRC) data to assess the need for additional unit oversight and implements identified oversight activities. Trains regional staff in LON and participates in concurrent reviews as needed.
Conducts data analysis and reports this information to section staff. Participates in unit and cross-agency workgroups related to activities, applicable rules and policies.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops and analyzes the applications and variations of programs and conducts routine monitoring and analysis of unit deliverables related to reviews, behavioral support services and utilization review activities as well as develops training to improve or initiate programs.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Intellectual Disability and Related Conditions; behavior support plans- development and implementation of; statistical analysis; Federal and state laws relating to intellectual disability programs; IDD Waiver Provider and Local Authority functions and service system; HCS, CLASS, DBMD waiver rules, service arrays and service/billing guidelines; other Medicaid and non-Medicaid services and programs; program planning, implementation and evaluation; and utilization review and quality assurance practices. Skill and Abilities: diagnosis and analysis; good communication skills- both verbal and written; good interpersonal skills; good professional writing skills; good organizational and time management skills; training and presentation skills.
Registration or Licensure Requirements:
Licensed as a psychologist or licensed psychological associate, or certification as a Behavioral Analyst by the National Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Certified as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP)
Initial Selection Criteria:
Is a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP). Experience working with the IDD population. Experience conducting psychological testing. Experience with adaptive behavior tools such as the ICAP, Vineland, etc. Experience with behavior management activities and/or behavior support plans.
Counseling Psychologist provides individual, conjoint/couples, and group counseling , and face-to-face outreach to university students, as a member of the university's counseling center.
Primary duties: provides counseling to walk-ins; assists with crisis counseling; participates in after-hours on-call rotation; participates in outreach programming; conducts suicide prevention (QPR) training; conducts limited and focused psychological testing and/or screenings for students; makes referrals; participates in counseling center case conferences, staff meetings, supervision, and teams; and performs other critical duties as needed and assigned by director.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in counseling or clinical psychology and related experience; must be a licensed professional psychologist or be eligible for licensure as a professional psychologist. Excellent counseling and outreach skills and ability to provide counseling on a wide variety of issues common with college students; excellent interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and provide counseling services within professional limits and boundaries; excellent written communication skills and ability to document services provides; and ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and act upon decisions within scope of delegated authority.
