We all needed to trust each other not just as partners, but with our lives. I was able to prove to myself that I am able to handle situations alone, but also be a productive member of a team. I learned how to communicate well not just verbally and on paper, but I also needed to think outside of the box when it came to communicating with people who spoke different languages, were deaf or had other disabilities. Applicants must be interested in a career in professional law enforcement. Officers are responsible for the enforcement of laws and ordinances pursuant to the local, State, and Federal Governments, as well as providing assistance to the public. They perform general police duties, process and operations for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of federal and state laws as well as municipal ordinances. They work special police assignments as required.
Officers are subjected to hazardous and life threatening situations and must maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.
Officers shall perform general duty police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances of the authorities. Additionally, officers will patrol designated areas to preserve law and order and to prevent and discover the commission of crime, to direct traffic, and to enforce motor vehicle laws. As directed, they will answer calls and complaints involving suspicious and criminal activities, domestic disputes, and other related citizen requests for service. Each officer shall be responsible for maintaining records, reports and all other duties as assigned.
Salary & Benefits: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
